Sudden Postponement of Andrews Management Matter

We had been expecting the presentations of Andrews Management, as the contingent purchaser of the KIP20 property that once was a historic farmhouse and barns at 125-127 Red Hill Rd, to continue at the next Zoning Board meeting on July, 16th. After all, that was what was agreed to by all parties at the prior meeting on April 16th. (You can see it right there in the minutes.)

Yet now, the matter has suddenly been withdrawn and we do not know when it will be re-scheduled at this time.

We don’t know why, so can only speculate. There has been a pattern of revising down the “initial and final proposal,” which was once four office buildings, then three, then two. Will there be one? There were septic fields placed adjacent to our potable water wells which were suddenly moved, despite the petitioner’s engineer stating, on the record, that he had “no knowledge of existing wells” and words to the effect of “we just decided to put it in a better place” even though prior testimony denied that. There are parking lots that were once laid out, creating impermissible impermeable surface areas, that are suddenly “banked” to be used later “if needed.” I can go on… What do we expect next? Just one building, perhaps that will fly? I know what would be acceptable to the Board: development consistent with the Holmdel Master Plan, which is for residential/agricultural usage at a low density.

A large single family home could be built by right and, despite the assertions of the developer’s planner that we live in a “less desirable part of the town… near the parkway,” [that was her sworn testimony] many of us feel that it is desirable enough for us to have chosen to raise our children here.

But maybe the reason is more prosaic? Perhaps Mr. Piscatelli suddenly remembered he’d planned a family holiday for July that had slipped his mind in April?

I can only speculate. I appreciate everybody’s support and will post an update when I have one.
